    Built in the late 1940's, Winkler County Memorial Hospital was in need of a replacement facility due to advancement in technology, lack of energy efficient systems, limited expansion capabilities, and change in the local environment.

    Although the new 34,000 SF facility looks like a full hospital replacement, this project was actually an addition and renovation due to the stringent regulations for maintaining the Critical Access Hospital status.

    Our design included detailed phasing of building demolition, provisions for maintaining electrical and mechanical service, parking accommodations, temporary helicopter landing, and key hospital department relocation so the hospital would continue to keep all patient care services open during the entire project and we limited unexpected delays or additional costs.
